SUPPORT OUR CHILDREN
Two and a half million Haitians live in extreme poverty.
Haiti is the poorest country in the northern hemisphere.
Two out of three Haitians live on US$2 per day.
One hundred thousand children under five years of age suffer from acute malnutrition.
"Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor
- Proverbs 22:9
Mary Lou Benoit-Connors (right below) has been traveling to Haiti to help the Haitian people since the 80's. She has seen constant devastation and starvation year after year that she has returned. Each year she and others on her team have worked tirelessly to address the issues sited above. This past November, 2014, Mary Lou decided to start the non-profit organization called Helping Haitian Children, Inc.to make a bigger impact on feeding, educating and clothing the Haitian children. Her hope is to formally raise funds to continue to feed and educate the Haitians she has grown to love. Mary Lou's heart for the Haitian children is truly making a difference. You can too!
In this region, malnutrition is rampant. Mary Lou works with the Brothers of Petits Freres de Ste. Therese d'Enfant Jesus in Riviere Froide in her quest to help these children. Sadly, the Brothers have no resources to provide food at school for the children. Only $50.00 will cover the cost for ONE child to receive lunch for ONE school year. That meal, to be offered onsite during their day, is vital to sustain the students and keep them engaged in school. Please take action by donating $50.00 to ensure food security to ONE of these 700 little ones so they can learn and grow!
